My name is Elaine and I have been researching my family genealogy. I am originally from Long Island, New York, where my forefathers live. As a child, my siblings and I were told that we had German, Irish, English, French, and American Indian (Seminole) blood lines. I am now trying to validate those lines. When I was in grade school, a teacher was going around the class asking the students where they were from; where were there ancestors from. Not knowing where mine were from I told her I was an American when she got around to me. She was not happy that I kept on insisting I was American although I am. Where my ancestors came from had no bearing on my life in America, as I was born here. I come from America.
This blog will be about my research, and the ups and downs of genealogy research, and my discoveries. I already have encounter several “brick” walls in my research, but I think as I continue it will be fun to break through them. I am a member of our local genealogy club and have learn lots from the other members. It is time to get my records organized and publish what I know.
